I scored this dress at Walmart for $7. That’s right! I love that the plaid is a modern black/white/grey mix rather than a bunch of random colors. It’s also thin, super soft cotton which lends it the feel of a broken in favorite. I pictured it with a denim jacket over top with the sleeves rolled up but never got that far. (What? It’s hot here. And everywhere else, I hear.) The cool metallic bib necklace is also from Walmart clearance -$5.

Tahari shoes (TJMaxx – $25?), Walmart dress ($7) & necklace ($5), Betsey Johnson belt (TJMaxx – $7?)
This was a Friday & when I went home to let the dogs out I changed into jeans & a comfy tee & then went to a friend’s house to watch movies & order pizza. We watched the Hot Tub Time Machine. It was pretty good. I love that chubby kid with glasses that was in Sex Drive. The pizza? Delicious. The company? Awesome!

I have been a bad blogger! My husband has been out of town so I found myself caught up in a whirlwind of fun activities. I did a LOT more than I would normally do. However, the list I wrote out of things I was going to do around the house? Not so much.
Photos coming soon!

Just something I threw on for a comfortable Friday. Nothing beats being able to wear what you feel like. I even got to wear my bright blue Birkenstocks. They are the perfect size & feel so good! After work I stopped off a Joanns & bought fabric for a new project. I’ll be sharing it here when I’m finally done with it. It could be a while with my track record with sewing!

I went for coffee after work with an awesome friend in this outfit. I actually ditched the scarf (since we were sitting outside) and switched the shoes for flippy-floppies (I had my foot wrapped). It was still cute that way too (well minus the ace bandage)!

Carlos Santana kitten heels (clearance), Venezia jeans (swap party), American Eagle tee ($3, clearance), Target tank (thrift), Old Navy scarf ($6, clearance)

That I love ballet flats – this is not news.

But also these bright yellow studded Louboutins are > all other ballet flats.
Sigh…. Lust, lust, lust… Covet, covet, covet…

Apparently a lot! I noticed this crazy difference when I started doing a new pose for the outfits shots. Check it out – on the left I’m totally Busty McGee while on the right (due to the slight slouch) I appear to have a fairly normal rack. I also think I look thinner overall! ‘Tis black magic I tell you!

Gianni Bini flats ($10, thrifted), Venezia jeans (from swap party), a.n.a. white tee ($4, thrifted), Old Navy cardi (around $7, ON clearance), self-made sterling & jade necklace
So guess how I’ll be posing from now on?!?

Sorry there hasn’t been a lot of posting happening around here. The past 2 weeks haven’t been very fashioned filled. Yes, I wore clothes. Were they worthy of a post – not really.
I’ve also been working on getting a bunch of new listings up on ebay so that’s been taking precedence. Gotta make that money!
Miss you guys though and I will try to get back on schedule soonish!

I haven’t done a link post in forever but there were so many great posts on Design Milk & Inspire Me Now this past week or so that I figured I’d just highlight them all at once so I can “inspire you now” to drink some good “design milk”.
Good stuff at Inspire Me Now (one of my favorite blogs because it is clever, clever, clever!)

“Ştefan Câlţiais a contemporary painter from Bucharest, Romania. Combining personal experiences (running away with the circus) with a vivid imagination, Câlţia manages to create dramatic characters, which remind the viewer of both Byzantine iconic figures and theatre-like characters, similar to those of Hieronymus Bosch.” See his work here – you really don’t want to miss this!

Here is me with my new brown hair. It’s actually about 17 different shades of brown – ginger at my roots, almost black in my bangs, various reddish shades everywhere else. I think I’m going for an auburn next time I bother to dye (ahem, color). Brown is a little flat for me. I just got sick of having such frizzy hair & finally realized that the red color I’ve been using is lighter than my original color & I am therefore lifting (or bleaching) my darker color light enough for the red to show. So, it’s back to really dark hair color for me & eventually maybe I’ll grow out this frizzy mess. I don’t remember having frizz so much in the past but I also grew up in a cold climate as opposed to the humid climate I live in now. Oh. Em. Gee. Can you believe how many factors are involved in hair care & how it behaves (or doesn’t)?

Nine West sandals ($15, Marshalls), Target shorts ($4, thrifted), Target top (gifted), Miley Cyrus scarf ($3, Walmart), bronze necklace ($4, thrifted)
