I’m sorry I haven’t been around lately! It’s been a little crazy – we’ve had our master bedroom torn apart to “re-do”, I’ve been doing a bunch of things with friends & I’ve also been sick for about a week. No fun, that.
Anyway, I’m trying to regain my forward momentum so hopefully you’ll be seeing more of me coming up.
Oh, by the by, I’m in one of Tina’s posts – check it out. She’s so damn cool!
Yes, of course I was shopping on New Years Eve!
Actually, I ran into Target because my beady little mind decided to buy some CD organizers because I want my CD’s to be easier to get to. As of yesterday they were in 4 big Tupperware containers under the guest bed. Not the easiest access! Plus, I started thinking & plotting how much room I would save if I ditched all the cases. I know everyone else but me did this like 10 years ago. I just couldn’t let go till now. And, of course, in the age of the MP3 file why do I really hold onto the CD’s? Again, just can’t let go. Not just yet.
So, I go to Target & then my hubby calls & tells me he needs a meat thermometer thus FORCING me into the kitchen section. He made us an awesome ham for dinner with yummy potatoes & mac n’ cheese. (He’s the best!)
So here’s what I ended up with:

CD organizers – what I actually went in for – $22.99 each/bought 2
Also, got Goblet of Fire on BluRay – $17. Hubby loves the BluRay. Now, I’ve never watched a regular DVD & thought to myself, “Geez, why is this so blurry?” but, you know, whatever. BluRay makes him happy. Who am I to judge? LOL

Kitchen stuff we’ve never had before: Meat thermometer – $6.89, cake server – $3.48 (clearance) & frosting spreader – $3.48 (clearance)

My last after-Christmas items.
Owl ornament – $1, elf outfit for cat – $1.25 (I couldn’t resist!)
The result of the elf hat being tried on by Stanley:
(I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time – I really wish I had video)

It reminded me a little of this:
Here is how my towels look in the guest bathroom. I’ll take more photos of the guest bath once I get it straightened up some more.

I’m planning some major organizing/cleaning for this weekend. I always get a bug up my butt during the New Year changeover to clear out the old & unused. Plus I didn’t clean once while my guest were here so you can just imagine how grotty I feel about my house right now.
I’ve been working on making a lot of changes to my office over the last few days. So far I think it’s great but won’t take photos till I feel it’s “done”. For now anyway. I do plan to paint the walls later but that will happen much later in the year. I’ll take a photo of all the junk I’ve cleaned out of it & am getting rid of. It amazes me how much stuff I hang onto. But I do go through phases & once they’re over, they’re pretty much over.
I started a new blog over at sugarisnotafoodgroup.blogspot.com. It is focused on me trying to improve my health, weight & overall well-being.
Please hop over there if it sounds interesting to you. I am hoping to improve myself & possibly inspire others in the process.
Thanks all!
I am still alive & kicking!
I had some really great ideas this morning so watch out for new posts. I have a couple intriguing ideas to punch it up a bit.
You may have seen my prior post re: new topic – web design. Well, overnight, I changed my mind. Of course. So, that post is gone & this one is to replace it.
Anyway, if you are interested in web design (or just seeing what I do for a living) you may want to check out my new blog MissAmyDesigns.com. There is a link to it on the right hand of this site. I’m keeping it simple for myself by keeping it on Blogger.com for now.
I was going to combine that with this blog but really didn’t feel right about it. I don’t really want to dilute the focus of this one.
Thanks, as always for reading & check out the new one if you think it may be of interest to you!
I saw these, left them at TJMaxx, went home, thought about them waaaaayyy too much, stopped on my way to work the next day to buy them, then ended up returning them the same day. Sigh…
They were just too darn narrow & the covered platform was digging into my foot. But I feel like I should have kept them as decor – they are so sculptural! Goodbye, gorgeous!
Joan & David booties – $44 down from $60 (TJMaxx price) down from $210 (TJMaxx compare at price)
Also, ran to Target on lunch that day & couldn’t find the harems worn by Apricot Tea that I so wanted - all in the same day! Ahhhhh!
