Waxworks (1929) - Tuesday, September 25, 2007

First off let me say that I only recommend this one if you are a die hard silent movie fan. I enjoyed the visuals a lot, but it didn't hold my attention like I wanted it to.

I'm not sure if Waxwork was truly based on this or merely inspired by it. A similar thread ties disparate stories together - the waxwork has hired a writer to create fearsome stories about the various characters in the museum. Each story he writes/imagines is like a mini-movie. I admit to losing interest & missing how the first character lost his arm. It seemed to me like they didn't finish the story, but I admit to not paying very close attention & to being pretty bored by the end of this one & reading magazines.

Sorry! Sometimes I wish I could be more enlightened & patient about entertainment, but I am a pretty typical American movie-watcher. I like my explosions, nudity and dialogue.
