Lesson in Proportion & Length - 5/15/2008

On the right we have the before photo or this morning's original outfit.

Drab & boxy!

Notice that the top hits me right above a major problem area - my hip bubble - and highlights said problem. Also, the top is not nearly fitted enough and so I look like I have a bit of a marshmallow middle. Not to mention the light on top/dark on bottom combination cut my right in the middle (which I don't need - I'm only 5'3"!)

Besides hiding my good stuff (waist, chest) and showing off the bad (hips) this outfit is also very boring... Light on top, dark on bottom, pretty straight up and down.

So, I added two pieces to jazz it up a bit & make me feel cuter.

I put on a sweater. This sweater is actually a trapeze cut so even the sweater alone did a lot of nothing for me. I actually wrapped it like a wrap top and then belted it with a wide black belt.

Behold...

Due to the belt & sweater combo I look thinner, curvier, less short and all around much more put together. I even noticed that the picture itself is skinnier LOL.

That is your lesson in proportion & length today.

Thanks for joining me!
