Self Improvement Corner – March, Week 2

Health: Looking up!  Avoided eating processed frozen lunches all week, instead went for turkey on bagel with lots of extra veggies – including avocado – a new favorite!  Biked a few times this week so far.  Lost 2.8 lbs, per weigh in Thursday morning.  Feeling great!

Spending: Doing well here also.  Did not spend any money Mon-Wed.  Bought breakfast Thurs plus stopped at the store on the way home & bought a box of 100 calorie snacks & a diet Orange Crush.  Total: under &8.  Tonight I have to stop & pick up a new battery charger for my older but better camera (the one that I have a remote for).  I’ve been missing it!

Updates on my self-improvement lately:

Health – thumbs down.  Having a hard time eating right.  Plan to start eating real foods more often, processed foods much less.

Spending – spent no money on Monday, Tuesday.  Wednesday went to Walgreens to get the two freebies I heard about.  Spent about $15, no freebies.

Improving my knowledge of 80′s rock – fail!


The Weight Struggle

So, I had gained most of the weight I lost at Weight Watchers back since cancelling my membership.  Ugh…

You may have noticed my latest outfits tend to be either leggings, jeans or dresses/skirts (the few things that still fit at this point).  It will be that way for a while but in the meantime I have gone back to the big WW.

I am looking forward & trying really hard to monitor my eating & be reasonable about food.  A few curve balls have been thrown my way lately: a fashion show luncheon & a house party (on the same day), girl scout cookies & a nice dinner out for Valentine’s Day.

Now I am hoping for a little respite from the social scene for a bit.  Just till I get myself under control.  It’s all new again & I have just come off from eating whatever, whenever, how muchever.  So, it’s been a bit of a struggle so far.  Much like any addict but my drug has been food.

But…  I refuse to give up on health.  It’s so very important to feel good.  (And looking good doesn’t hurt either.)  I encourage anyone with a similar struggle to continue to move forward & know that you CAN do it.  It just takes a lot of tenacity.  Keep going back over & over if that’s what it takes!
