The Proposal was much funnier then I expected it to be. I probably only really watched it because of Ryan Reynolds but it did make me laugh a lot.

Driven career woman working out in the morning. Who actually wears athletic clothes to work out in their home – show of hands?

Uptight career woman chic. Actually, I love it - so sharp! I WISH I could be this immaculate.

Pashmina on the plane – this is a great color for her & they use it one more time in the movie.

Exiting the plane – I wanted to show the proportion of her skirt to her jacket. Plus, there’s that gorgeous bag!

Accessory shot – yum to those wine leather gloves.

Same outfit as exiting the plane but here it looks more 50′s to me.

An extremely flattering grey dress – gorgeous!

Here she is at a bar – still all buttoned down

And this is where you start to see her character soften, after they had shared with each other

In the family wedding dress with the gifted necklace

On the boat leaving the island – still a bit softer

Less buttoned down than in the beginning – no harsh jacket – but still tucked in. Maybe she is guarded but not as hard as she was at the start?
Any thoughts on how the fashion grew with the character? And what about choice of colors? I think they work well, following the arc of the character while flattering her the entire time.

So, I’m 8 episodes deep in Gossip Girl. That sounds awfully naughty. Anyway, I know I’m behind, but that’s just my style with TV. I abhor being tied down to a weekly TV show so I am always behind the curve. Here are some recent observations of the first season, episodes 1-8
Episodes 1-4 – Am totally dazzled by lovely Serena. She is very sweet to continue to put up with Blair’s BS. So far I love all the characters, even Blair – you always need some nasty, right? Oh, is it just me or is Gossip Girl’s voice very similar to Carrie’s narration on SATC??? I think it’s on purpose.
5th episode – Slumber Party – almost decided I didn’t like Gossip Girl after all. Blair is just WAY mean & evil to little Jenny in this one. She makes her steal a coat from Blair’s mom’s store & leaves her to deal with the cops, among other things. Later, I realized that my favorite eye-candy was missing – Nate & Chuck. Maybe this had something to do with not liking this episode so much. Decided to give GG another chance.
6th episode – Costume Party – I believe this is the one where Vanessa showed up. She has continued to irritate me ever since. Dan needs to tell her to get lost. What does she expect – she broke his heart & ran away. Now she wants back in???
7th – Victor/Victrola – I love the club that Chuck wants his father to invest in. Super fun! But, wow, you don’t want to cross him – E-VIL, telling his dad’s gf/Blair’s mom that the dad is cheating. And then, HA!, he’s actually not! When will the misunderstanding end? On GG – never!!!! OMG, and Blair gives it up to Chuck. Like, WOAH!
8th – Blair’s Birthday Party at the Sushi place – Now Vanessa is Dan’s “best-friend”??? A-nnoying! Anyway, she & Blair both make the effort & play nice. So, whatevs. Also, Nate finally sticks up for himself by refusing to follow orders & give Blair the ring. P.S. Who are the worst parents ever? Nate’s. And we leave with Blair making out with Chuck, again.
Can’t wait till I get the next DVD with 4 MORE episodes! Expect an update!

I wanted to share this beautiful movie, The Fall. I took a few pics while watching it at home in order to illustrate exactly how visually appealing this movie is, besides being a really cool movie altogether: plot, direction, etc…
It’s about a stuntman in the 20′s who has been hospitalized. He wants to end it all & tries to coax a little girl who is also in the hospital to bring him enough morphine to end it all. The way he does this is by crafting a gorgeous story to tell her in order to convince her she needs to help him. That’s all I can say – it really is visually brilliant.
I later looked up the director & saw that he also directed one of my other visually favorite movies, The Cell. Brilliant!

I’m Not Anti-Social, Just Short-Sighted brought this movie to my attention in one of her posts. Alas, I can’t find her blog now so can’t give her the ole link back. Anyway, she is a really cool, far out cat that’s seems to be very into mod & other stylish & retro things. This movie was recommended by her & I cannot believe that I had not heard of it before (maybe you have): Wonderwall
The soundtrack was composed by Beatle George Harrison & the celebrated Jane Birkin starred. However, the star of the show is truly the visuals. A-mazing. It’s such a fun ride through a surreal world dreamed up by some insanely imaginative genius & then executed in perfect trippy 60′s style.
Below are some stills I took while watching it. I really encourage you to add it to your Netflix queue or whatever type of list you keep to remember your movie must-sees!
