My very good friend, Stacy, had a birthday party last Saturday, along with her twin sis, Marie. They have the best parties & we always have way too much fun with them. One year, they had a Jersey Shore themed bash with their names plastered all over – hey, it’s all about the branding! Last year was a roving party in a limo, having dinner out & then taking over the VIP section of a downtown club. This year was the Blue Monkey bash. We were super psyched about this one – it’s close to our ‘hood & I hadn’t been there yet.

I would describe the Blue Monkeyas a restaurant-slash-club, perfect for a small party.  We got the table up front that seated about 30 people.  I only tried the artichoke & spinach dip, which was awesome.  I guess I got into the drinking more than normal & ignored food LOL.  My first drink was a Cheesecake Martini.  Um, YUM!  It was very rich, and had graham cracker crumbs on the rim.  Next I had another martini from their menu.  I’m useless & cannot remember the name of it (but I do remember that there was rhyming involved).  It was very fruity & I remember remarking to my husband that the rim sugar tasted like Peeps.  After that were several Liquid Marijuana shots.  My husband loves them & now so do I.  They taste like pineapple juice mostly & are fluorescent green.  Tehe.

We moved around from dance floor to the outside tables to the main table to the super cool pink ladies bathroom.  It was a fun night & the band, Halo, was great.  They played a great mix of 80′s & 90′s tunes.  Quite a few hair band ballads – I’m not sure if they knew the crowed was so full of Jersey people or if that was mere coincidence.  Some in the group do know one of the owners, John Pietrangelo, so it probably wasn’t coincidence at all.  He was a wonderful host, hanging out with us a little & making sure we were well taken care of.

At the end of the night, my husband & I treated ourselves to a town car ride home.  Giovanni was a spectacular driver & the ride was so relaxing.  His number is 239-537-7488 if you are ever in Naples, FL & in need a ride.
